When the Time is Right...

If one chooses to not speak up about an issue or about his beliefs, it doesn't make him less of a person nor does it shrink his soul. I believe the message here is that we all can be involved in our own way and that if we have something to say, then we need to have the courage to stand up and voice our opinion. However, I don't think that we need to voice our opinion at every chance we get. Sometimes we need to sit back and take in all the information before we make a statement. You shouldn't be criticized because you chose to let another person speak. Nor am I saying that you should always sit in the back seat. Our soul is who we are and what animates us and for us to truly find out who we are and what that is, I do believe that we need to be involved and take a part in the world that we live in today or else we may find ourselves always sitting in the back seat.

"Begin to see yourself as a soul with a body rather than a body with a soul."--Wayne Dyer

Lyndsey,

Great job on really analyzing the quote! It seems that you really looked for another meaning rather than what immediately shows on the surface. I definitely enjoyed reading it. It's not only who we are, but what we do that defines us.
